This 3 part series will take place fortnightly on Thursdays the 22nd October, the 5th and the 19th of November with a 5pm start time for each session.

Children experience the same classroom in very different ways. If we want to make sense of children's behaviour, wellbeing and learning, we first need to understand the diversity of those experiences.

Workshop 1 – Understanding the Nervous System
Together we will explore how experiences of stress and safety shape children's nervous systems, and how this influences learning, communication, behaviour and participation in school.

Workshop 2 – Understanding Neurodivergent Neurology
We will consider the many different ways children experience the classroom, and how a deeper understanding of neurodivergent neurology can inform meaningful adjustments that support accessibility, inclusion and participation.

Workshop 3 – Understanding Capacity
Drawing the series together, we will explore children's fluctuating capacity and how this can help us make greater sense of experiences such as school attendance difficulties, withdrawal, overwhelm, shutdown and behavioural distress.

Gráinne Warren is an accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, trainer and speaker. She provides training, clinical supervision and consultancy for professionals working with children, young people and families. Her work brings together contemporary understandings of nervous systems, neurodivergence and relational practice to create spaces for reflection, curiosity and learning, supporting professionals to develop thoughtful, responsive and neuroaffirming ways of working.
